What Can Crested Geckos Eat?

Hornworms are safe and nutritious for crested geckos — their high moisture content and favorable calcium-to-phosphorus ratio make them a solid feeder insect. Offer them as an occasional treat rather than a staple because the high water content can cause loose stools if overfed.

Crested geckos can safely eat superworms as an infrequent treat, but their high fat content and poor calcium-to-phosphorus ratio (~1:3) disqualify them as a staple feeder. Limit to once or twice per month, always gut-load, dust with calcium, and size the worm to the gecko's head width.
